Training for Foster Care

We are currently following Government guidelines to prevent and limit the spread of Covid-19.

As of Monday 23rd March 2020 all Foster Care Training will be stood down until further notice.

Our Fostering in the Digital World App is still available and we encourage you to register and complete training via this informative app. Please click here for details on how to download the app.

Becoming a Foster Carer is an invaluable decision. We appreciate that each foster carer brings their own set of unique skills and life experiences to the process and we hope to complement those with specialist and essential training and support throughout the process.

We are committed to providing the best training on all subjects relevant. With policies and legislation updating, the needs of children evolving, and the challenges faced differing with each case, we consider it vital to provide training that gives foster carers the tools they need to offer the best care in all circumstances.

Training and ongoing support offers Foster Carers the opportunity to develop skills and to build the confidence they need for their new roles.

These training opportunities are for all foster carers with some core courses for those of you newly approved carers and a range of opportunities and new training for all.

We have a wide range of topics covered in our training across Northern Ireland. If you’d like to find out more about each course please click the link.

To book training contact your supervising social worker.
