Safer Internet Day 20228th February 2022
Did you know?
- Over half of 12-15 year olds have had some form of negative online experience (Ofcom 20/21).
- Online sexual abuse recorded by police in NI has increased by 80% in the past 3 years.
As part of Safer Internet Day 2022, we would encourage all our foster carers to download our free ‘Fostering in a Digital World’ App.
The App ensures that foster carers have the most up to date information and resources to help protect, educate and empower children and young people in their care online.
“There was so much information on social media which I wasn’t aware of. I feel much more confident in keeping the young people I care for safer.” – B.M, foster carer
“I think the App is a great addition. Easy to use and lots of helpful tips.” – J.K, foster carer
“I have already learnt several things that I didn’t know in the first 10mins of using it! It will be so useful to me on a daily basis. The information regarding social media and the safety centre are absolutely brilliant.” – K.C, foster carer
“I think this App it great. It’s full of the right info, I think that every foster carer should have access to it.” – L.T, foster carer
