Ellie* is a young teenager who requires a short-term foster home. Ellie is very close to her family and they will remain a good support to a foster placement.
She is a very active young girl and has a keen interest in football. She loves to watch football and is very knowledgeable about the premiership teams. Ellie has also played football in the past, she captained her football team and was a natural leader in this setting. Ellie would like to get back into football in the near future. Ellie enjoys baking at home and this is a calming and soothing activity for her.
Ellie has been through a lot in her young life including the loss of a significant person. Ellie is currently grieving and adults around her are trying to help her make sense of these strong and difficult feelings.
Ellie can become dysregulated with the adults that are closest to her as they try to support her through adolescence and her experience of loss.
Ellie’s go to emotion right now is anger and she has displayed some challenging behaviours within the family home however has never acted inappropriately with any professionals or carers working her. There is ongoing work being completed with Ellie around managing strong feelings in a safe way.
Ellie does respond well to one to one time with adults and has built some really positive relationships with teachers and social work staff. Ellie does not require any additional assistance in terms of her academic abilities and is in a mainstream school setting. Ellie needs some emotional support to get through her time in school.
Ellie does have a friend group and will go out and spend time with them in the community like any teenage girl. She takes pride in her appearance and enjoys dressing in the latest styles. Ellie can be placed in a single foster carer home or a two carer fostering household. Ellie does have younger siblings so is used to living with children.
