Northern Area are seeking a caring and stable foster home for Oisin age 9*.
Oisin has a quirky sense of humour and a big heart. He has an athletic build and brown hair which he loves to make sure is cut in the latest hairstyle. Oisin is very caring and will often seek to ensure the wellbeing of others.
He has experienced several changes in his life and needs a home where he can feel safe, accepted, and supported to settle.
He is an active young person who enjoys being outdoors and likes to be kept busy. He has a particular interest in football, gaelic and swimming and also enjoys gaming as a way to stay connected with family.
He attends school during the week and enjoys structured activities, including after‑school clubs. Transport to and from school is provided by a taxi. Foster carers would be encouraged to support regular school attendance and engagement in activities that help build confidence.
Oisin has some additional care needs that require a sensitive and supportive approach. He benefits from gentle prompting with personal care and reassurance around routines.
At times, Oisin can find it difficult to express his emotions and may respond with frustration or withdrawal. Calm, patient foster carers who can help him understand and manage his feelings will be key. He responds best to consistent boundaries, reassurance, and positive role modelling.
Oisin maintains important relationships with family members. Supervised family time will continue to be supported by the Trust.
Foster carers will receive ongoing support from an experienced social work team, access to specialist guidance where needed, training opportunities, and financial allowances.
