Luca* is a tall, slim 13 year old boy with dark brown hair. He is a friendly, chatty young person with a kind nature and lots of personality. He is polite and well-mannered, and enjoys being part of family life – often chatting, singing, or whistling happily around the house.
He has a real love of activities and keeping busy. Luca enjoys swimming, Scouts, drama, and playing hockey at school, where he likes being part of a team. He has a creative side and enjoys music and drama, and he also loves relaxing with his iPad, Switch, or favourite TV shows.
Luca values closeness and connection with those he trusts. He enjoys spending time with family, and as relationships develop, he appreciates reassurance and even the occasional firm hug. He benefits from routines and predictability, which help him feel safe and confident.
Luca attends school regularly and, with support, is building friendships and engaging well. He is curious and enjoys learning, although he sometimes finds aspects of schoolwork challenging. With encouragement, he continues to grow in confidence.
Like many children who have experienced early difficulties, Luca has some additional needs. He can find change and busy or noisy environments overwhelming and may become anxious or withdrawn at these times. His mood can change quickly, and he sometimes needs support to manage his emotions or follow instructions, particularly when tired or faced with transitions such as bedtime or getting ready for school.
Luca responds well to:
• Clear, calm, and direct guidance
• Predictable routines and structure
• Patient encouragement and reassurance
• A supportive environment that understands his emotional needs
Luca would benefit from foster carers who can offer consistency, understanding, and a nurturing home environment. Full training and ongoing professional support will be provided to help carers feel confident in supporting him.
Luca is a bright, engaging young person with lots of potential. With the right support and stability, he will continue to build his confidence, develop his strengths, and thrive in a caring and understanding home environment.
