**UPDATED** Could you foster Emily (6) and Ethan (3) (siblings)?

4th September 2026

EMILY* (6)

Emily has a beautiful smile and mischievous laugh. She is a typical 6 years old child. Emily has brown hair and brown eyes.

Emily is an adventurous little girl and loves to be outside tending to the plants in her garden, riding her bike or being on her roller boots. Emily can try to push boundaries but is also accepting of when boundaries are put in place and explained to her why they are necessary.

Emily is always busy and will always find an activity to do, she enjoys dancing, skipping and colouring. Emily loves the Disney movie ‘Frozen’ and knows all the words to the song which she sings proudly! Emily loves to play with her Frozen dolls and enjoys dressing them up.

Emily is in primary three. Her teacher has recently said she has a wide group of friends, she enjoys learning and is doing really well. Emily is super clever and confidently waves goodbye to her foster carers each day. Emily is settling well into school and is always excited to tell her foster carers about her day at school.

Emily has a passion for Irish Dancing and recently danced at a Fostering Achievement event where she got an award. Emily has danced at a range of festivals and won a variety of medals and cups.

Emily and her brother both attend church every week with their carer’s. Emily really enjoys Sunday school, especially making arts and crafts.

ETHAN* (3)

Ethan is a bubbly little boy with the most infectious giggle. Ethan is 3 years 9 months. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Ethan loves nursery rhymes and dancing along to music. Ethan is a curious little boy and likes to play with blocks and trucks. Ethan loves being outside, from fixing ‘broken’ hoovers in the shed, to riding the lawnmower, to brushing the yard to help out with the horses.

Ethan thrives with a routine and can struggle when this routine is broken with his behaviours. For example, he can get very upset if he can’t wear what he wants.

Etha is always outside pottering about. He is affectionate and will seek cuddles for comfort. Ethan has eczema and sometimes his skin can become dry and red, he uses creams which have improved things.

Ethan is making great progress with all aspects of his development. He has a lovely, chatty and funny character all of his own and is becoming much more sociable and comfortable with adults and children at his day care and nursery. He is currently open to Scrabo children’s centre to be assessed for ADD. He is also under the care of ophthalmology due to a cyst on his right eye which will be removed as soon as possible.

The siblings live together in a busy and nurturing foster home. The children share a strong bond and have lived together since Ethan’s birth. Emily can be mothering to Ethan and Ethan enjoys playing with his sister. He will often follow her inquisitively, wanting to be involved in whatever she is doing. It is, therefore, very important that Emily and Ethan find a home together.

Emily and Ethan have contact monthly with their birth mum and their grandmother. Emily can become dysregulated after contact and this takes a couple of days to return to baseline.

Emily and Ethan would benefit from a long-term foster family with a warm, secure and loving home. With love, stability, and encouragement, they will flourish and thrive as part of a family and in the wider community.

Their foster carer(s) will receive financial support, ongoing social work support, as well as training and development opportunities.
