Could you adopt Scarlett? (3)

3rd March 2025

We are looking for a forever home for Scarlett* anywhere in Northern Ireland.

Scarlett is a wonderful, happy 3 year old girl who brings light and love into the lives of those she comes into contact with. Scarlett loves animals and dogs in particular. She seems to be able to spot a dog from anywhere. She will say ‘woo woo’ and blows kisses when she sees a dog, often trying to give the dog a hug or a kiss. Scarlett enjoys being outdoors and going for walks in her push trike.

Scarlett likes to watch singing on TV (which she dances to) and likes watching Peppa Pig (she can say ‘Peppa’ and grunts like a pig when she sees this), and she also loves Waffle Doggy! She likes you to chase her, play with her, read her stories and interact. Scarlett loves being around other kids younger and older than her. She is all smiles when with other kids and runs around with them.

Scarlett was born with respiratory distress and underwent cardiac surgery. She is reviewed every year and there has been no identified needs in respect of this and no concerns at this time. Scarlett has a genetic condition which can impact upon development and may lead to learning needs as she gets older. The presentation can differ for every child.

Scarlett does show signs of developmental delay; however, she has made tremendous improvements and since being placed in foster care has learned to walk and her vocabulary is developing slowly. Scarlett receives lots of support from Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language therapy and Physiotherapy. Scarlett’s new family will be provided with advice and support to help her thrive.

Scarlett requires a family who can love her and enjoy her beautiful personality despite the developmental uncertainty for the future. She may benefit from being the only child in her family, however, a significant age gap to another child may also be considered.

If you think you could offer Scarlett the family she deserves and would like more information please call HSC NI Adoption on 0800 0720 137, email us your details or complete our online enquiry form
