Could you adopt Liam, age 4?

20th October 2025

Liam* is 4 years old. He loves being outside especially on his bike, which he can ride really well! He also loves going to the park to use the swings and slides. Liam is very musical and loves singing and music. He knows a lot of songs and taught himself to play ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ on his small keyboard. He responds to music in general and has a great ear.

He loves a good ‘carry-on’ like engaging in one-to-one games that involve a bit of humour. His foster carer describes how one of his favourite games is kicking a ball and running under legs during the game. He enjoys it when the soft foam ball gently hits the other person or Liam himself and he finds this incredibly funny.

Liam came into foster care when he was three years old and has lived with his foster carers since. Liam attends nursery and has a one-to-one support with a Statement of Educational Needs. He knows all the letters of the alphabet and can identify them all in and out of the sequence of the alphabet. He has a great memory and enjoys working things out.

Liam does have some additional needs as his speech is delayed and some sensory needs have been identified. He is waiting for further paediatric assessment and currently attends Speech and Language Therapy. Liam is building his vocabulary and has a number of words. He can make his needs well known and if he does not have the words he needs, he will take his foster carer by the hand to show her what he wants. He can also say “help” or “I need help” if he wants something. His foster carer says Liam understands what she says to him and can follow direction. He can also maintain good eye contact with her. He has a good sleep routine and usually sleeps throughout the night.

Liam needs a family who can be adaptable to his needs as he goes through further assessment and continues to develop. He needs parents who can be his champion and celebrate all his achievements with him whilst providing love, care and patience to help him reach the potential he has.
