Biker Tour round Northern Ireland – Sat 17 May

13th May 2025

🏍 FOSTERING 400 🏍

As part of our Foster Care Fortnight celebrations, up to 12 biker enthusiasts will take to the road this weekend for a whistle-stop tour of Northern Ireland.

Our team of bikers will be championing HSC NI Foster Care and raising awareness of the need for at least 400 more fostering families to come forward and offer safe and nurturing foster homes across the province.

The tour will kick-off in Belfast at 9am on Saturday 17 May.

The bikers, many of whom are foster carers themselves, will then stop in each HSC Trust area to meet the public, fostering staff, fellow foster carers and supporters in the community.

Gareth Irvine, is a HSC NI foster carer who is leading the tour. He said: “As a foster carer and keen motorcycle enthusiast I thought bringing those passions together would make a great event to hopefully raise some awareness around fostering and urgent need for more foster carers, particularly during Foster Care Fortnight.”

A big thank you to Gareth and all our bikers for being fostering champions and helping us to encourage more people to kick-start their fostering journey to support a child or young person in need.

We’ll be sharing updates of their travels on Saturday via our social pages so be sure to follow and offer some encouragement.

We’ll also be hosting an information stand at each location – pop along, show your support and have a chat with our fostering teams.
