Annabelle* is a bubbly girl who likes fashion and having her hair styled backwards. She has a slim build and stands tall for her age.
Annabelle is very chatty and inquisitive, asking questions that can sometimes lead to random and humorous topics, reflecting her curiosity about the world around her.
Annabelle is a film enthusiast who loves going to the cinema. She can sit through movies with great attention, immersing herself in the stories and characters. Her imagination is vivid, and she often enjoys acting out scenes from films she has watched, showcasing her creativity. Annabelle also enjoys playing video games, especially Sonic the Hedgehog, which aligns with her energetic and playful spirit.
In addition to films and gaming, Annabelle has a passion for music. She loves to explore different sounds and rhythms, which adds another layer to her expressive nature. She is very creative and enjoys making bracelets and exploring the textures and colours through arts and crafts.
Despite her playful demeanour, Annabelle has a soft side. She is gentle and caring towards others and enjoys hearing stories about other children. Annabelle prefers spending time with older kids and she thrives in social groups where she is made to feel included and valued.
Family time is precious to Annabelle. She cherishes the bonds she shares with her birth family and will often talk to her foster carer about the important people in her life.
Annabelle has been diagnosed with Global Developmental Disorder (GDD) and there is a strong possibility that she has Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), a lifelong condition resulting from being exposed to alcohol before birth. When envisioning her future, Annabelle aspires to become a scientist, driven by her desire to understand and combat the effects of alcohol. This ambition highlights her thoughtful nature and her wish to make a positive impact on the world.
Annabelle’s diagnoses impact her behaviours, sensory needs and her relationships with others. She can be overly friendly with people and show affection to everyone, without the caution typically seen in children who are securely attached. Annabelle has a desire for closeness and companionship with others; she is tactile and seeks physical contact. She benefits from deep pressure and enjoys being hugged or squeezed, and using weighted blankets.
While Annabelle can dress independently, she enjoys the support and connection she receives from her foster carer whenever she is getting ready. She thrives on the encouragement from her carer to undertake tasks independently, helping her develop her confidence.
Annabelle enjoys opportunities to explore different textures like playdough and slime. She likes playing with fidget toys, tying laces together, and bending and pulling different objects. Messy eating is a favourite for Annabelle, as she relishes the sensory experience of different flavours and textures.
Overall, Annabelle is a loving and affectionate child. She is full of life and curiosity and brings joy to those around her. Annabelle requires long-term foster care until she reaches an age of independence. She would thrive in a loving home environment, ideally with older children who can provide companionship and support.
