20th January 2026
Anthony* is a lively, thoughtful and very funny 10-year-old who has a real talent for making others smile. He loves jokes, enjoys playful banter with trusted adults, and often uses humour to connect with people around him. Anthony is also a deeply caring young person who is sensitive to how others are feeling and values close, positive relationships.
He is a devoted Manchester United fan and loves being active. Anthony plays for his local football club and enjoys all kinds of sport, particularly when there’s someone to kick a ball around with in the garden or at the park. Alongside his love of football, Anthony has a creative side and has recently taken up the guitar. He has a natural singing voice and is quick to learn, showing real promise as a young musician.
Anthony also enjoys quieter time and is very happy spending time independently building Lego, often choosing complex sets well beyond his age. He is carefully saving his pocket money towards a dinosaur Lego set and dreams of visiting Legoland one day. Anthony enjoys gaming and responds well to clear expectations and boundaries around screen time.
Anthony benefits from a structured and predictable routine, particularly in the mornings, where he may need encouragement to get started with the day. He is independent with personal care but appreciates gentle daily reminders, such as brushing his teeth or showering. Anthony responds best when tasks are clearly explained and when he has the opportunity to ask questions. He enjoys being involved in everyday family life and takes pride in helping prepare meals. He has a varied diet and enjoys trying new foods, especially traditional Polish dishes, which connect him to his cultural background. In the evenings, Anthony values one-to-one time with carers to help him settle, whether that’s reading together or talking through the day.
Family connections are very important to Anthony, and he has regular contact with his family. If this contact does not happen as planned, Anthony can worry about how everyone is doing.
Anthony has experienced early life challenges which have meant he has sometimes taken on responsibilities beyond his years. As a result, it can take Anthony a little time to build trust with new adults. He can talk openly about his feelings and will often reflect on his behaviour, showing insight and the ability to apologise when things go wrong. Anthony understands boundaries and consequences and responds well to praise, reassurance and positive reinforcement, though he can worry about disappointing others.
Anthony has previously lived in foster care and, for a period, his needs were best supported in a residential setting. Over the past year, Anthony has made significant progress and has shared that he would like to return to living in a family home. The plan for Anthony is to move back into foster care, where he can continue to build on the positive steps he has already made with the support of committed and understanding carers.
Education is important to Anthony. After a period where he found school challenging, he returned to education in September 2025 and has made excellent progress with the support of a one-to-one classroom assistant. He has formed positive relationships with staff and peers, enjoys attending after-school clubs, and continues to play football several evenings each week.
Anthony would thrive in a home where he can receive consistent one-to-one attention from caring adults. He may be best placed as an only child, or alongside another young person of a similar age or older, as he can feel a strong sense of responsibility towards younger children. Anthony loves animals- particularly dogs and cats. Anthony would benefit from carers who enjoy his sense of humour, can share a laugh with him, and also offer warmth alongside clear boundaries. He needs carers who are available to listen when he needs support, who can take an interest in his football matches, music and Lego projects, and who also understand when he needs space. A carer who is open to learning about Anthony’s Polish heritage would be especially valued.
Anthony’s foster carer(s) will receive a fee in addition to fostering allowances, as well as ongoing support.
