Emergency First Aid

Morning session

Description
The objective of this qualification is to support carers in becoming skilled in emergency first aid. The qualification includes information on: recognising signs and symptoms of injury/illness, including substance abuse, injuries sustained through violence/self-harm and in assessing situations that can arise while caring for children and young people.
The qualification covers first aid skills in CPR and in the use of an automatic external defibrillator (AED), providing first aid to a casualty who is choking and dealing with external bleeding and hypovolemic shock.
